The Gulf Coast Fair records its first entry from Meder stock farm of Baldwin county for nine cattle stalls and exhibit space. A small check secures a daily exhibitor ticket as officials promote livestock sales, land show plans, and cooperative county support ahead of the October fair.
Deaths listed include John J and Mary births show Charles Joseph and Mary Eben Huard Charlies A and Mabel E Nichols Cicero R and Emma A Cash William N and Helen Taylor Ezekiel and Mamie Yawn George Jr and Estella Myrrick Emile and J C Herpin. One line notes the world has enough grand.
Birmingham traffic expert J. T. Slatter argues West to Mobile shipments through the Warrior river offer lower freight rates than direct Birmingham moves. He notes through class rates from Fort Wayne Columbus to Mobile beat those to Birmingham, aided by empty return trips and rising tariffs after October 1.
Rose Smith and Morris Blount in the circuit court filed suit against the Grand Lodge Knights and Ladies of Honor of the World for 200 dollars due on Mary Woodard’s life policy who died in 1915. Elizabeth P. Walker sued Grand Lodge 28 Grand Order of Odd Fellows for 460 dollars on Eli Perriman’s life policy who died in 1909. Dr Albert W Metcalfe Jr sued Robert Blackjack for 250 dollars alleged by account.

Elmer Sly, manager of the Creola Stock Farm, invites Mobile city commissioners to attend the first public hog sale ever held by the farm. The invitation marks a notable civic event in Mobile.
A hardwood and veneer plant costing 107000 is now operating at Hog Bayou on Chickasabogue creek. Jerome Sheip, formerly of Philadelphia, built and runs the plant after previous Choctaw Point mill fire destroyed his business last year. He quietly secured a site and moved forward with the new facility to employ workers again.
Machinery was erected and installed at the plant now operating, employing a large number of people. Mr. Sheip, pleased with Mobile, has decided to make the city his home and focus on the industry he established.
Jack Rowell twenty, son of William H. Rowell of Mertz Station near Mobile, was knocked unconscious by a lightning bolt that struck telephone wires near the family home while he sorted sweet potatoes. Physicians treated him for about an hour before full recovery. Regulators announce registrar sessions September 3 and 4 at the courthouse to register voters and transfer moving residents.
