Col Charles Keller of the United States Engineering Corps leaves Mobile for Washington to take war department duties. Maj William Guthrie succeeds him, having become a respected figure in Mobile both officially and socially.

Mrs Manhattan and four children from Tuscaloosa visit Mrs F O Stone. Ladies Aid Oakdale M E Church plans lawn party May 9. Mrs Manteufel and family move back to Fairhope.

Know Your City trip to American Laundry announced by Chairman J G Espalla Jr of the Chamber of Commerce. The event invites non members and will assemble at the Cawthon hotel at 3:00 Wednesday afternoon with autos to accommodate all participants. An auto driven by P B Dixon left the road at Magnolia Cemetery but sustained no damage to the vehicle.
Jewell Kelley Stock Company launches an indefinite run at the Columbia Theatre with The Price She Paid a four act rural drama featuring Rose Morris Bert Hedden Scott Williams Elzee Hiatt Jack Dalroy and Grace Ada Hunter in a star studded company led by Jewell Kelley. The show opens Monday matinee and promises strong local appeal from a well known theater troupe.
Charley Chaplin headlines a two reel feature at the Columbia theater today. Local patrons will see The Knockout in a slapstick showcase with Chaplin in classic comic form.
