City Council Advances Waste Paper Receptacles and Sidewalk Projects
The council cleared a batch of ordinances and resolutions including funding for waste paper receptacles on streets with steel boxes to be installed by Guy D Kendrick. It authorized notes totaling 9 000 dollars for Silver street improvements and approved side walks on multiple streets. A land deed offer for Ballentine avenue was tabled to use the quarry as a city dump. Several special assessments were authorized to fund sanitary and cellar drains, wind walks, and water mains extensions. A report pegged street improvements at about 4004 dollars 61, and Dr J G Seltor noted odor from sewer basins prompting no immediate remedy.
