Thousands killed as cyclone hit Kirraches on the Arabian Sea. A tidal wave swept low lands, destroying most houses and wrecking harbor vessels. Panic grips survivors amid massive property loss and widespread destruction along the waterfront.
Walla Walla June 7 Attn Darrow for Haywood questions Orchard under cross examination, with about 100 witnesses cited across claims of depredations while Orchard testifies he cannot recall details. The defense presses for Orchard to recount his gambling, while Mrs Frank Lemmenbung widow of a former governor comments on hoping for reform.
Amid a chaotic convention scene in Atlanta, delegates argued over a proposed prohibition on public kissing performances. Dr C W Tyson of Detroit and Dr Drake were cited as figures debating whether to defer to law or policy. The discussion centered on Cupid and the moral implications of displays of affection during the temperance themed gathering.

Bellaire Ohio June 7. The residence of Hernan Michwels aged 50 a clear tanker was destroyed by fire this morning and the charred remains of the man were found in the ruins. Authorities are investigating a report that he was killed and the building burned to conceal the crime.
The jury returned a guilty verdict in the Warwick Radcliffe case and he received a twenty year sentence. The trial concluded with the defendant slated for imprisonment in the penitentiary.
In Lencon Indiana Judge Ant wan in circuit court declared George Rhodius insane amid a custody and guardianship dispute. A guardian will be appointed and Rhodius wife Klima Dare of Cleveland faces trial on related charges. The couple honeymooned in New York and Pittsburgh after a Louisville wedding.
Cornelius, condemned for the September 17, 1906 murder of his wife Ratella, received a reprieve from Governor Harris delaying execution to June 21 for further inquiry and time for the condemned man’s attorneys to prepare. He was reportedly intoxicated at the time of the act.
A trial ends with the defendant spared intoxication charges after jurors find three drinks did not intoxicate him. Governor Murrie hears mercy pleas from friends of Cornel tesloged and a tearful 11 year old appeals for his father’s life while the Rose family maintains opposition to clemency.
Detroit Michigan June 7 Dow Vaughn of the University of Michigan told the League of Michigan municipalities convention that whiskey is less harmful than the impure water many affluent supplies provide for drinking. He cited typhoid causing 560000 deaths annually in the United States.
Washington June 7 Representative Burton met the President and said there was no peace offering to Dick and Paraker regarding the appointment of General McMakin to the internal revenue collector post at Toledo. He called McMakin a good man and noted no valid objections, though the general impression is that McMakin had strong support from allies.
A man jumps from a window to flee a blaze in Philadelphia. Fire crews respond quickly, extinguishing flames and rescuing the immediate area. No further details on injuries or cause are provided in the fragment.

Gov. Harmon signed the measure as a sweeping reform reshaping transportation regulation with two new five member commissions overseeing Greater Cleveland and other counties.
