A mass of ice from the shaft sides collapsed onto a descending mine cage in Wilkes Barre Pa killing three men and injuring several others. The dead are Evan Owens 20 Andrew Hoyer 26 and Bernard Uadder 22. Injured include Thomas Toole Michael Smith Thomas Thomy and Andrew Sweder with two in serious condition and others in shock.
