The meeting of Cont 10 Nations Guard notes the new armory on East Center street moving equipment from the rink to the Aller. Carpenters install offices for captain and quartermaster with storage on the first floor. Club rooms will offer pool, cards, and social diversions exclusive to squad members to attract volunteers.
The Ohio Fair Managers Association opened the annual session in the royal court room with a full attendance. Highlights included remarks by R. Grieve and A. P. Sandles, music by a male quartet, and talks on the farmer as community backbone and legislative needs for fair exhibits. The afternoon featured discussions on exhibits, farm policy, and legislative support, with plans for next year’s fair venue to be Fremont.
The session praises the Marion County Agriculture Association for its entertainment and pledges state support against stock fraud and poor agricultural goods. Speakers urge fairs to uplift the community socially and morally, criticize allocations, and stress need for adequate funding and inspections. Officers were elected for the coming year.
