New Rural Route To Start June First From Lemmon

A new Rural Route No 1 will begin Monday morning north of Lemmon with Will Deitzel as temporary carrier. The 31 mile route serves about 76 patrons with tri weekly mail, delivered only at designated boxes along the route.

No Circle Required on Ballot Layout for November Election

The new law requires party names to be printed side by side for each office with the top voting party placed first on the left. Second place follows, then other parties in order of votes for governor. Independent candidates occupy a separate column and a circle remains to the left of each candidate's name.

A large crowd attended Tuesday evening to see the Seniors and others present the drama Among The Breakers. The Lemmon High School production was highly praised as perhaps the best yet staged by the school.

Court Instructs Jury To Bring In Not Guilty Verdict

The May term of the Circuit Court for Perkin County ended after over a week with the Carrington murder case resulting in a not guilty verdict for William Curehieson. The court declined a direct instruction to verdict, defense witnesses offered further testimony, and the jury returned after brief deliberation. The Donavan divorce decision was reserved for about 30 days. Other cases were disposed of quickly and a full list will appear next week.

Lemmon High School Defeats Bowman 10 to 9 in Narrow Win

Bowman boys led 9 to 4 after four innings but Lemmon H S rallied as Bucholz shut down the visitors. Green's late line drive scored the winning run from second in the last half of the inning. Umpire decision stirred spectators amid a clean Lemmon victory.

Editor Mitchell Retires from Mo Bridge News

W. C. Mitchell has retired from management of the Mo bridge News. The editor is a capable publisher but rumors claim he intends to start a third paper in Mobridge, a move seen as poor judgment given the town already has two newspapers.
