A field study reports 27 inch tall alfalfa plants with strong root systems from a plantation by Prof Hansen. The Siberian variety shows rank growth and high yield potential, responding to criticism from eastern state rivals.
Doherty, once tied to the Com Club in Watauga, reports hopeful farming prospects west of the river. He cautions that the drought may not harm yields, and says crops on his section look as strong as those east of the Big Muddy. He will testify in a Fargo federal court probe over postmaster shortages.
At the Grand Lodge of A F and A M and the Grand Chapter C E S session in Aberdeen, Dr. Henry Ellis of Lemmon was named Grand Patron. Lemmon attendees included Mrs L W Dousman Mrs W H Nesbitt Mrs H N Aldrich Jas K Clark and Dr Ellis. Mrs Aldrich and Mrs Dousman left Thursday while Mrs Nesbitt remained visiting Evarts for a few days.

A young man claiming the name John Nichols who worked as a chauffeur and auto repair man for O. M. Young fled town last week with a borrowed revolver and a small amount of borrowed money. He borrowed the revolver from Carl Paulson and funds from Dave Wilson and bought cartridges on credit, allegedly headed east with a stop at Lemmon.
About one o clock Thursday morning Gilbert Sorby found a smoldering fire at the Reasy residence west of Main Street near the Palace Hotel and J C Elliott store. Lemmon volunteers quickly extinguished it noting kerosene soaked rags and bottles, and garret rafters saturated with kerosene suggesting arson. Owner Mrs Emma Henderson from Johnstown Pa resides elsewhere. occupants C H Stribbling family had just left.
