Four former Lee College students J B Beaugh C D Clinton H K Kinsey and G R Risher and L A Rizzuto were honored by Esso Research and Engineering Co Baytown division for 30 years with the company More than 100 colleagues attended at the Tower Restaurant Beaugh a research technologist since 1948 holds three patents and two papers published Clinton Kinsey and Rizzuto hold technical or leadership roles in Baytown area firms and community groups Their families and local ties are noted along with current jobs and residences

Fall Festival Donations Support Custodian Injury Fund
The second annual Fall Festival will host LC and Robert E. Lee High School clubs on Saturday evening in the LC parking lot. Proceeds will aid a custodian injured in a flash fire at the college. Trophies honor booth color, originality, and fundraising. outside activities end at 9 30 p m followed by a dance in the gym.

Council Panel Is Named To Probe Cafeteria Prices
A Student Council committee was appointed at the Tuesday meeting to address high cafeteria prices. Led by Ronnie Anderson, the panel will consult Mr. Alvin Miles about pricing and may study other colleges, though differing operations complicate comparisons. Debates on menu changes and other Ball logistics followed.

Lee College Debaters Reach Finals at Bellaire Tournament
Lee College sent two teams to the Bellaire Debate Tournament at Bellaire High School in Houston. Team A Gordon Utz and Jim Schell reached elimination finals with five wins and one loss and defeated Rice University before a close loss to the University of Texas in quarterfinals. Team B Charlotte Baumbach and Ella Wright finished with four wins and two losses. Texas A&I won the finals after beating Rice. A debate trip is planned for Nov 12 to Louisiana Tech with tryouts arranged by Joseph Mendoza.

SU Ledge No Place For Pop Bottles
The Dean of Students, Mr. Alton Laird, reinforces the rule against soft drink bottles on the upstairs ledge in the student union after a staff member was struck on the shoulder by a falling bottle. He says injuries could be serious and notes students generally keep bottles in the racks before ping pong balls are issued.

Explosion in Lee College Lab Injures Custodian
An explosion and flash fire in the Lee College chemistry laboratory injured custodian Oscar Hightower who suffered third degree burns to his left hand while emptying trash cans. Comptroller Miles blames a chemical mix including silver acetylide and permanganate.
