Council Proposes Changes in Offic e Selection Method

Student Council on April 29 proposed amendments to the Student Body constitution to change nominating and electing officers. A resolutions committee suggests nominating by petition with at least 15 signatures and replacing the preferential ballot with a polling system. The plan awaits a future Student Body vote after further council consideration.

Treat and Murdock Named as Delegates to LC Meet

Treat and Murdock to represent LC as delegates to a statewide meeting of junior college representatives in Austin on May 7. The gathering, led by Dr. J. W. Reynolds, aims to plan an annual junior college convention and address small college problems. Alternate Eula Flynt and member Shirley Hlanak will join the group with sponsor Miss Florence Niell.

Commencement Plans For Lee College May June Grads

Final exam schedules arranged with first hour rule for multi hour classes. Commencement begins May 30 with baccalaureate at 8 p m and graduation at 8 p m June 4. George H Gentry presides, diplomas awarded, and 1954 graduates listed led by Bert Allen and James Mallory among others. Music, invocations, and benedictions by named faculty and guests.

All School Picnic Planned for May 8 at Lyondale

Shirley Hlanak announces the All School Picnic set for May 8 at Lyondale from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Supper around 5:30 includes barbecued beef and sides. Tickets cost 1.50 with admission 0.50 to Lyondale. Student Council organizers include Betty Hart Linda Scott and others.

Graduates To Have Breakfast Party At Lee College

Lee College faculty members will host a breakfast May 30 at 8 30 a m to honor graduates their spouses and Board of Trustees. Honorees will be served in the Student Lounge with Mrs Lynn O Hagan leading the planning committee.

The schedule lists courses from 4 to 6:30 PM including Beginning Typewriting and Analytic Geometry. Reading period shows fee of $40.00 for the 12 week term.
