Beels Breaks State Junior College Record at Blinn Relays

Lee College star Bobby Beels set new open quarter and state junior college marks at the Blinn Relays on April 12, leading the Rebels to fourth in the meet. He ran 49.4 in the 440 and 49.3 anchor in the mile relay, erasing the 50.2 open quarter time and chipping away at the 49.8 TJCAA record. Beels helped Lee win the mile relay, their third straight, as Blinn edged them in the sprint. Other Lee placers included Troy Woodall in hurdles and Bob Perry in lows, with a faulty handoff costing a relay first. Blinn won the team title. Lee finished with 38 points.
