Johnson Painting Shown in Houston Exhibition

Guy Johnson an art teacher at Lee College has an oil painting titled Still Life on display at the Alley Theatre in Houston. The abstract work was previously seen in New York and Ohio exhibitions and was among 17 works chosen by a Houston Art League jury. Earlier this year the Houston Post praised another Johnson work at the Art League Museum.

Prominent Collegians Named to Lee Log Honors

Six students will be recognized for academic excellence in the Prominent Persons section of the 1957 Lee Log. Jack Hopper and Bennie Lee Johnson receive honors in science and math. Julia Bonner and Barbara Upchurch are noted in business subjects. Delbert Derrett and David Vanover are honored in other subjects.

Building Plan Now Underway at Lee College

The university starts a remodeling program with air conditioning planned for April and a new chemistry lab in room 0. A new building is planned to include eleven classrooms thirty one offices a cafeteria a book store and a lounge with bids to be issued in January. Bonds totaling four hundred thousand dollars have been sold to fund the project.

Spring registration closes early after Jan 18

Pre registration for spring semester must be completed by Jan 18 except payment of fees. After Jan 18 no registrations will be accepted until regular days Jan 28 and 29. Dean Rundell urges immediate pre registration as sections reach closing. Several sections already closed this week.
