Morton Calk to Lead in South Pacific Production

Leukemia Fatal To LC Student Harold Lee Harper

Harold Lee Harper 21 a Lee College student died of leukemia. He was the son of Mr and Mrs I L Harper of 2415 Cedar Bayou Lynchburg Road and was buried December 30 in Memory Gardens. He attended Math 304 with Mildred Mitchell and Psychology 100 with Sue Jones. Survived by sister Mrs Billy R Stutte Baytown, grandparents Mr and Mrs F A Saxon and Mrs Lucy Harper all of Baytown, and niece Karen Stutte Baytown.

Two German Student Chapters Form at Lee College

The Texas Association of German Students forms two Lee College chapters for first and second year students. The organization promotes language and country study and meets during class periods as needed. Each chapter elects officers. First year officers: President Hershel Rosser Vice President and Secretary Diane Morton Treasurer Nick Nicholson Reporter Ronnie Plocheck. Second year officers: President Kent Satterwhite Vice President Jerry Kovar Secretary Anna Sawberger Treasurer Jeannette MacDonald Reporter Bill Smith.

Talent Show Entry Limit Draws Near

The jan 28 Student Council talent show invites applications by jan 15 from the dean of students or public relations director in the Student Union. Dress rehearsal is jan 21 at 1 pm, with the public program jan 28 at 7 30 pm. Winners receive gift certificates of 25 15 and 10 from Altmans Town Country and Paine's.

Ex Ranger Club Distributes Remaining Funds

The Rebel Ranglers donate 192 dollars from Western Week proceeds to four causes. Baytown Child Care Center receives 100 dollars, Goodfellows 30 dollars, 32 dollars buys soap for Viet Nam, and 30 dollars goes to the new girls club. The Lantern corrects last officers list after the group dissolved.

Lee College dual assembly features Bramlett and Gipson

Lee College hosts a Thursday assembly from 9 50 to 11 20 with Sam Bramlett president of the Board of Regents and F B Gipson author of Old Yeller as speakers. Bramlett discusses future campus plans including a 10000 square foot Student Union and cafeteria extension. Gipson, fourth Lyceum speaker of the year, discusses his books and film adaptations.
