Income Tax Returns Due March 15
Filing rules for 1946 tax year outline that tax will be lower this year after multiple reductions. The normal rate remains 3 percent with 500 dollar exemptions. Surtax brackets are cut by 3 percent each, and a further 5 percent tentative tax reduction applies. All U.S. citizens and residents with 1946 gross income of 500 dollars or more must file. Minors with 500 dollars or more gross income must file, parents liable if child does not pay.

Dean Hosts Faculty Party in LIC Library
Dean and Mrs Walter Rundell entertained Lee Junior College faculty and guests at a Saturday February 9 party in the college library. Activities included Zip Zap, bridge, forty two, and rummy with a Valentine theme. Refreshments were sandwiches, cake, tea, and coffee served by Miss Florence Niell. Annual Poll Falls Short Of Goal At Lee Junior College
Lee Junior College will not publish an annual this year as only 154 pledges were collected against a 300 pledge goal. Journalism instructor J F Koenig notes the projected cost was about 1000 dollars with income from annual sales and ads insufficient. Plans are abandoned until next year hoping for better conditions.
