LC Volleyball Faces Tough Start In 1990 Season
Lee College Lady Rebels opened the season in Brownsville facing Mexican Olympians from Monterrey and Durango, losing all three matches. Coach Tracie Johnson praised the experience gained, noted key players Candy Flores and Lisa Gerdes, and stressed that no conference team is an easy win as the team builds depth for a playoff push. They then beat Texas Southmost before a five-game loss to Texas Southern University, with Gerdes totaling 23 blocks and Flores guiding the setting.
