Woman's Delta 88 Crashes Into Tech Voc II Walls

An 83 year old cosmetology patron backed from a space around noon on October 8 and drove her Delta 88 into two brick walls of Technical/Vocational II. No injuries reported. Police ruled the incident accidental and reminded drivers to proceed with caution in parking areas.

Pancho Villa veteran slated to speak Nov 5 at Baytown campus

Eileen Orms of 1804 Olive backed from a parking space and pressed the accelerator, injuring her and damaging a vehicle. EMS transported her to Humana Hospital after Baytown police assessed $6,000 in damage. LC sophomore Rachel Gonzalez is the daughter of Pancho Villa veteran Jesus M. Gonzalez who will speak Nov. 5, with artifacts from the revolution on display and film showings of Viva Zapata in Moser Hall.

No Covered Walkways At LC Campus Cited By President

Faculty report shows absence of covered sidewalks stems from lack of funding. A $100000 cover for sidewalks would not suffice due to high pipe racks and need to lower structures. SHWC master plan advised center parking removal and perimeter lots, a process set to take years. Budget constraints push other campus improvements like lab furniture and safety gear ahead.

Lee College student constitution ratified with 2.7 percent turnout

An Oct 7 vote approved the student congress constitution at Lee College. Of 107 ballots, 98 voted yes and 9 no, representing 2.7 percent of the student body. Interim chairman Jay Antle lamented apathy but praised passage, enabling SC to govern under the new framework.

Student Congress seeks longer game room hours at SC

Interim SC chairman Jay Antle wrote a resolution to extend game room hours, to be sent to Dean Ed Monk, President Vivian Blevins, the press, and the Lee College Board of Regents. Interim vice chairman Kevin Plante said night students should engage more, as SC postpones permanent officer elections to Oct 23.
