Student Congress December hold on scholarship funding plan
Student Congress voted unanimously on November 11 to postpone a decision on reallocating student service fees from clubs to academic scholarships. The proposal, introduced by Susan Cummings Sheley and John Britt, seeks to reserve 25 000 to 40 000 annually for scholarships, with two plan options at 30 000 and 40 000. Applied Sciences involvement remains unclear, pending written proposals. Lee College notes student associations have input on fee use.

Lee College announces spring semester phone-in registration starts November 21. Students must consult a LC counselor for clearance before registering. Phone registration gives first choice of courses across main campus and San Jacinto Mall locations. it helps avoid the alphabetical schedule at regular registration.

Dickey Reading Postponed Due to Illness at Lee College
Best selling author James Dickey has postponed a Lee College reading from November to February 2 after hospitalization. An informal discussion will run 11:15 a.m. to noon at the Edythe Old Studio, followed by a 7 p.m. reading in Rundell Hall and a reception in Moser Hall Phyllis Davis room. Exxon magazine seeks student articles for 75th anniversary
Lee College Walter Prescott Webb Historical Society teams with Humble Exxon to publish a magazine commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Humble refinery. American Studies and Texas history students are encouraged to research and write short articles on topics from workplace women to WWII contributions, with 5 or 6 pieces planned.

Student Congress Plans Thanksgiving Adopt A Family Drive
Student Congress invites names of families in need for its Adopt A Family program. Five families will receive Thanksgiving dinners with trimmings, delivered to their homes on Thanksgiving morning. Each dinner has a $50 budget, with meals to be bought from Kroger. Volunteers meet at 8 a.m. at the John Sylvester Gazebo by Moser Hall.
