Americans approve of leaders but fear the future says Broder
Pulitzer winner David S. Broder told Lee College symposium attendees that Americans feel positive about current U S leaders yet fear what lies ahead. He cited optimism about world changes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe while warning of domestic pessimism tied to deficits crime education and eroding values. He urged Bush to re examine Reagan era policies amid shifting global events and noted voter cynicism and turnout issues as signs the nation awaits genuine leadership.
