LC campus tightens security after three attacks on students
In the past weeks three attacks on female students occurred in LC parking lots along Lee Drive. Katherine Johnson of auxily services and physical plant says extra measures are in place including flashing lights on campus trucks for night patrols and rapid radio communication among security. Officers can drive over lawns to reach calls quickly and periodic lighting checks continue. Students are urged to travel in groups and be prepared with keys. If attacked, scream to deter assailants and report incidents by calling the switchboard for security contact. A self defense program is not yet part of Lee College curriculum but may be offered if enough interest is shown.
