Regents OK hiring physical plant director at college
The board approved a full time hire for the physical plant director role at its February meeting. Vivian Blevins noted delays and increased workload on Dean of Administrative Services David Carnahan since the arrest of Kyle Jennings. A temporary hourly hire will bridge the gap while the new director is sought, with completion anticipated in five to six weeks.

Counseling Center Named for Gertrude Teter at LC
Lee College dedicates the Gertrude Teter Counseling Center on April 5. The facelift expands to seven offices from five and adds testing rooms for career inventories and other assessments. Insulation reduces noise as the center moves handicapped services from Social Science Building. Teter honored for 23 years as LC counselor. Center hours span 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mon Tue. 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wed Thu. 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Candy thieves strike Lee College gym office
Brenda Gentry, secretary at Lee College gym, found $365 in losses after a Feb 22 break in. Thieves stole candy worth $15, two calculators, four tennis rackets, a team volleyball picture, a mailing folder, three racquetball rackets, and a book with locker combinations. Office files were tampered with. police have no suspects.
