Regents Delay Faculty Handbook Approval At Lee College
Lee College Regents postponed approving the 85 86 faculty handbook amid questions over text omissions and new language. Concerns included a missing grounds supervisor position amid a pending harassment suit and a vague academic freedom phrase described as a bill of rights for instructors. Reading committee members suggested changes, while final editing rested with Dr. Jerry Alston. The harassment case names LC President Robert Cloud and others as defendants. In other business, the board delayed action on Cloud’s contract, to be discussed in a later executive session.
