Freshman survives near drowning on campus pool
Lee College freshman Andy Bradford was saved from drowning in the campus swimming pool during an advanced class. His partner Andre Blanco and classmates helped bring him out as instructors started CPR. He was airlifted to Gulf Coast Hospital then moved to Hermann Hospital in stable but serious condition.

John Hannah, Texas Secretary of State, will discuss the Bill of Rights at a noon talk on Thursday in Tucker Lecture Hall. The Diboll native and Sam Houston State alumnus was active in the Sharpstown scandal investigation and later served as U S Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas. Dr. Ron Roberts of the Young Democrats calls the visit a privilege.

Lee College opens Summer I registration by phone April 20 with a toll free number for long distance calls. Returning and new students may register 24 hours daily, choosing from main campus Baytown San Jacinto Mall and Liberty neighborhood locations. Two registration periods run April 20–May 7 and May 23–27 with payment deadlines and options via Visa Mastercard or in person.

Presidential search nears final stages at Lee College
The Lee College presidential search has entered its final phase with six candidates standing after interviews by the Board of Regents. Candidates include Dennis Topper, William E. Crowe, J Neil Admire, Glenn Maye, Ernest Martinez, and Jackson Sasser. One applicant, Daniel T Hayes, withdrew. The board plans campus visits and will set salary after a final choice, aiming for a decision by late April.
