Schley Court Adjourns Amid Sudden Judge Wilson Death

Judge Wilson, counsel for Admiral Schley, died suddenly of acute indigestion at the Steebam hotel in Washington. The court of inquiry adjourned as testimony had just begun and would resume tomorrow. Schley expressed shock at the loss, with witnesses reportedly prepared to testify on his knowledge of the Cienfuegos situation.

Blalock for Collector Appointment Held Up in Washington

Special to Greenville News reports L. W. C. Blalock of Newberry is expected to be appointed internal revenue collector with the nomination sent to the president. Capt. Capers may be named national committee man, while W. P. Crawford’s appointment for lieutenant remains delayed amid charges from Chester. Also a separate item notes the death of a tramp in Greenwood who carried 125 dollars in gold sewn into his clothing and left the money to heirs.
