Feud Sparks Mortal At Church in Kentucky and Tennessee

In Middlesborough Kentucky on October 7 a feud at the Big Springs Union Baptist church near the Tennessee line left four dead and four wounded. The slain were Lip Chadwell James Chadwell Rush Morgan and Henry Morgan. Wounds included Henry Overstreet and Robert Jones mortally, John Morgan with a leg broken and Joe Moberley with a flesh wound. The Morgans of Virginia and Chadwells of Tennessee have fought since the Civil War, with dozens killed on both sides.

Two More Men Die In Va Feud Factional Fight

In Middlesborough Kentucky Oct 8 two wounded men Morgan and Ross Chadwell died after a night of factional fighting at Union Baptist church near Big Springs Virginia bringing total dead to six. A large armed group led by Bud Chadwell Len Chadwell and Joe Dooley left Middlesborough to join Chadwell forces. It is feared serious clashes will follow. Augustus Morgan father of the slain boys and a peace advocate reportedly seeks to broker quiet.

Miss Stones Captors Under Mountain Siege Near Dubnitza

Report from Constantinople says Miss Stone is located in the mountains on the Turkish frontier near Dubnitza with captors surrounded by Turkish and Bulgarian troops. The abductors are alleged to be Macedonian committee members, jealous of the current leadership and seeking its downfall. Washington reports she was alive and well last Saturday, with a short extension granted by captors. Boston notes ransom fund additions have nearly ceased, totaling about 56,600. A bridge project on Cane Creek at Hood Mill Place will be let to the lowest bidder on Oct 17 at 11 o’clock, with specs available at letting and bidder rights to reject all bids.
