Banks Perry Charged in Gaffney Fatal Quarrel

In Gaffney on a Saturday afternoon a quarrel between Banks Perry and his father in law Charlie Gilbey and William Marsh led to Perry fatally striking Marsh on the head with a blunt object. Marsh died at his home on the town outskirts. Perry and Gilbey were jailed after arrest. An inquest returned a verdict that Marsh died by the hands of Banks Perry with Gilbey accessory. Whiskey reportedly blamed for the incident.

In Charlotte the South era Cotton Spinners report sixty five mills representing 350000 spindles approved curtailment of output with plans to reach 500000 spindles in sixty days. Secretary George says the move follows the February 16 meeting and aims to shorten the working time.
