Deaths by Own Action in City With Pistol and Razor

Columbia journalist notes that Jane zl.-J GL Eargle, a known clerk and business man, committed death by own action using a pistol and razor after heavy drinking. He ran a grocery store in the Colleutte building on Gervais street. Also reported is the death of Napoleon Lavalle, the Charleston prisoner who killed his wife in 1889, following a hernia operation at the penitentiary.

Filipinos Name Terms of Peace in Manila Meeting

In Manila on June 21 a Manila assembly of two hundred Filipinos approved a seven point peace plan to end hostilities. They submitted the terms to General MacArthur for sanction and pacification. The agenda calls for Filipino civil government, return of confiscated property, employment for revolutionary leaders, funding from Filipino revenues, protection of personal rights, expulsion of the friars, and a possible amnesty. The crowd cheered the expulsion call.
