Spartanburg on January 10 reports Kevin R Richardson DD leaving for Pulaski Tennessee to become pastor of First Methodist Church. His Spartanburg friends regret his departure. wife and children will join him in a few weeks. Charleston dispatch notes a January 10 pursuit where dispensary constables seized a horse and wagon carrying 300 half pints of liquor, the wagon later damaged by a trolley car, owner named Blank.

Cotton Car Burned Near Glenwood Mississippi

A northbound through freight from Glenwood Mississippi had a cotton car switched at Westminister Tuesday morning around six. The car and its 45 bales of cotton were destroyed by fire, caused likely by a spark from the engine. Loss is estimated at $2,000.

Black woman slain after neck wound in Stateburg attack

Tunie Wil lama, a Black woman about twenty six, was stabbed in the neck by Exsex Richardson, colored, in Stateburg Saturday night. The injury severed the jugular artery and she bled to death within minutes.

First Woman Carrier Appointed on Spartanburg Route

Miss Nora Hicke has been appointed carrier on Cherokee route No. 1 in Spartanburg county and has entered upon the discharge of her duties. She is the first woman carrier for South Carolina rural free delivery routes. Her parents are well pleased with her appointment.

Two Officers and Soldier Killed in Jolo Clash

Manila January 10 report details an engagement on January 3 with refractory Moros in Jolo. Lieutenant James Sewell and one private of the Fourteenth United States Cavalry were killed. Six others were wounded including Second Lieutenant Roy W. Ashbrook and Captain Halstead Carey. Lieutenant R. C.
