Col. Ferrer Arrested in Adams Express Murder Robbery
Chas R H Ferrer a former Adams Express employee was arrested in Columbus Ohio and confessed to killing Messenger Charles Lane and robbing the Adams Express way safe on the Pennsylvania eastbound train. About $1000 of the stolen money was recovered. Ferrer 22 said he acted to fund his upcoming marriage to Miss Lillian Costlow. He had no accomplices and confessed planning the crime while unemployed. The report notes his motive as financial need before his wedding.
