Court in Chester Sentences Five for Crimes
Chester April 6 The Court of General Sessions concluded a week of work. Judge Purdy impressed the Bar and public with efficient dispatch. Ed Walls was found guilty of murder with mercy, life sentence. Robt McCorkle acquitted. Ike Hemphill got five years for manslaughter. Girard and Frazier Gist received ten and eight years for stealing railway cars. Robert C McCarter found guilty in absence of bigamy. One murder case continued to fall term.
