The La Jara Board of Trade plans a public meeting in La Jara on Saturday June 27 1908 to decide on selling La Jara reservoir water rights to Costilla county landowners. Farmers are urged to attend as offers exist from Costilla grant people and Alamosa district plans to buy water. Land with reservoir water is valued higher and the region foresees increased cultivated acres.

Sanford reports a baby boy born to Mr and Mrs W C Spencer. Erastus Beck has much of his new house walls completed. Swen Peterson bought Tom Faucett's hogs at 35 per head. Mrs W C McGregor of Antonito attended the Black Morgan wedding. Flag day events included a program and dance despite a storm. Eva Block and Join Morgan wed in a June 16 ceremony with a large reception and ball, over one hundred guests attended. Friends wish them happiness.
