Auto Road to Park Debates Route Through Fall River Basin

Dan F Harrison, recently named deputy engineer for the Lincoln Highway in the county, advocates an auto road from Kemmerer toward Yellowstone. A proposed 800000 funding aims to build a route from the south via Fall River basin and Hoback canyon to the Snake River, with state cooperation and rights-of-way discussions with Oregon Short Line. The project seeks to ease travel, attract tourists, and connect Kemmerer and Lincoln County to the park while coordinating with Forest Service and Reclamation Service on a permanent path.
