The Kemmerer booster note praises municipal progress including water works sewers and cement walks. It highlights an auto coal chute similar to Cheyenne and asserts Kemmerer’s stable growth, ample public schools churches hospital and up to date business blocks.
Oregon Short Line crews continue improvements to increase yard capacity and operations. A 60,000 gallon water tank rises near the old tank to boost storage while the round house gains a new roof and the turntable entrance track is remodelled. Two new cinder pits are added and west yards are widened to accommodate 76 extra cars rearward of the grounds.
A fluidly reported death of Al Davidson in San Francisco is unconfirmed. He had moved from Spur ranch to the coast for health. The cause is given as heart leakage. If true, Mrs Dayston and children will receive sympathy from Wyoming friends.
Mrs Wai J Care and twelve children visited her parents Mr and Mrs Samuel near Pinedale before returning home. Mr Garr, a pioneer of Fremont County, long resided near South Pine for years then moved to the Green River valley.
Irish and Dutch Dan Harrity report the sheep have been moved from the summer range at the HQ ranch. A shipment of twenty care straight laasbe will be made this week. Dan has tended Abe sheep in the Billa all summer and faced difficulty keeping close to the herd due to a war situation. Authorities say the task has made a good showing.
Bascom Skaggs, sentenced to 21 to 80 years for murder, escaped his guard in Rawlins. Reports placed him near Bitter Creek with posses in pursuit. Rumors of killings near Bitter Creek circulated but were unconfirmed as deputies and horses pursued the escapee.
Dr. Marty Zick an Optemerist and state association president visited Kemmerer and circulated petitions for an Optemerist bill for the next legislature. The proposed law would, like Nebraska's, keep carpetbaggers out of the state.
Mr Whitton of the New Kemmerer presents first genuine war pictures for this country. Scenes include Louvain wreckage, Crown Prince Ferdinand before assassination, Belgium army drills, Swiss maneuvers, life aboard a French battleship, and British field gun evolutions. Showings at Kemmerer Diamondville and Frontier on Sunday night October 11.
Quealy Petersons shipped 54 rambouillet rams to the Montana State Fair in Helena where they won the grand championship for flocks and took all first premiums for individual ram ram bonillet bucks. The car then moved to Salt Lake for the Utah State fair. Prize-winning stock were sold on the fair grounds at satisfactory prices.
The Kemmerer Livery Company has taken over the Sublet stage line for two years and will carry mail and passengers between Kemmerer and Sublet. The stage is covered with side sheets for bad weather and a Studebaker six seven passenger car will join service in spring. Stage and mail depart Sublet at sight o'clock daily except Sunday and return from Kemmerer at 1 p.m.
Al Gardiner of Cokeville visited town arranging for sheep to be fed on the winter range. His flocks were among the first to enter Matthews corral for dipping with Barrett flocks following. Gardiner remains a top sheep lord with high prices. Seam Curtis sheep sold for $8.25 in Omaha.
