County Commissioners Visit State Board of Equalization
County commissioners traveled to Cheyenne to confer with the state board of equalization over the valuation of first class land in the county. They disputed the board’s higher ranges of 30 to 45 dollars, fearing a rise in taxes. The outcome, a shift to a full value tax base, could raise local levies by about one third next year, with uncertain relief for Lincoln County.
