Officials Visit Kemmerer to test automatic brake adjuster
Harriman lines officials from Pocatello and partners from Southern Pacific Union Pacific Oregon Short Line and Oregon Railroad Navigation tested the Acme Automatic Brake Adjuster in Kemmerer. The device aims to auto tighten worn brakes improving piston pressure consistency and brake efficiency, potentially replacing hand adjustments and on location tests. Twenty five battle ship coal cars were loaded for a trial trip to Pocatello. The visit included about fifteen officials and Warrap-5 young men from Uinta County were urged to apply for federal railway positions in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
