Preliminary Hearing Bound Over in Cumberland Murder Case
Jim Spearce, charged with the murder of Jim Gavrilox and wounded man George Hakas, was bound over to the District Court on a $3,000 bond after a Saturday preliminary hearing before Justice of the Peace James W. Oregon. State evidence described a Greek exchange at the Cumberland pool hall on August 4, Spearos firing at Hakas, then Gavrilox, as bystanders separated them. a billiard ball was allegedly thrown during the scuffle. Defense witnesses offered no evidence.
