Ed Talcott of Kemmerer, now Western Union chief in Pocatello, married Charles Tilcott in a city ceremony on October nth. Bride Mae Edythe Nbler of Pocatello worked as a stenographer for the Red Cross in Washington. Her parents were residents of Awaton, Idaho.

Rumor circulated that Lincoln County troops from Camp Greene Charlotte may be deployed to France or California. Dispatches hint at troop movements from Camp Greene with unclear destinations including Wyoming units and others. Machine Gun Co Sails for France from Wyoming

Reported private letters say the Machine Gun Company, drawn from Kemmerer Rock Springs Big Piney Pinedale and other Western Wyoming towns, was the first to head for actual service in France. They broke camp at Camp Greene on the 24th and are said to have sailed for Europe though exact dates and destinations could not be published. A quarantine for scarlet fever had been lifted after several weeks.

Oil Strike At Fossil Field Signals 15 Barrel Potential

An Idaho Wyoming Oil Company rig struck oil in the Fossil field at 192 feet. Specialists estimate a 15 barrel daily pumping capacity if shot now, with plans to drill deeper to a second sand likely at 300 to 400 feet. The Green River Petroleum Co has purchased a large standard rig and ships it to the Lar Harge Felts area where Green Wir j company will begin drilling a deep well. Thoris, previously in operation on Green River holdings, has a 1600 foot capacity and can deepen the current well to that depth if needed to strike oil.

The Lyman Oil and Gas Co in Lincoln County was recently disposed of to the Mt OU and Refining Co in a deal handled by Mr Frat Com. The exact consideration remains undisclosed.

Lincoln County's sweeping Liberty subscription triumph

Lincoln County led Wyoming in the Second Liberty Loan campaign with strong take up by all areas and especially foreign born workers in mining camps. While complete figures were not yet in, reports suggested county subscriptions exceeded 350000 with Kemmerer Consolidated employees alone pledging 25000. The Camera will publish full sectional totals in a later issue.

Wyoming miners seek wage raise in Cheyenne talks

Operators and union representatives from Wyoming discussed higher wages for miners in Cheyenne. Following President Wilson s approval to raise coal prices by 45 cents a ton, the meeting plans possible wage boosts. Day men may gain 1 40 a shift, Eure Loaders and diggers 10 cents per ton, with a 15 percent rise for yardage and related work.

Soldiers Parade Through Kemmerer En Route to New York

Two trainloads of Oregon soldiers passed Kemmerer at dawn. About 8 am the first train stopped briefly for exercise and fresh air as locals gathered. Several hundred soldiers formed lines and marched around the triangle, recalling old times, before continuing to New York City.
