Wyoming led the Rocky Mountain region in coal production with 6,80,108 short tons and a value of 61,700,187 as 1910 output rose 17.48 percent in quantity and 18.90 percent in value. The gain followed rail supply shortages and strikes elsewhere, with notable increases in Converse, Sweetwater, Uinta, and Fremont counties and 7,778 workers employed in Wyoming coal mining.

Hunting Party Heads to Upper Green River Country

Miner Wins Suit Over Mine Injuries In Diamondville
Attorney Ralph Smith returned to Salo City last week with fresh laurels after a court verdict for damages of 2400 dollars. Judge M. L. Ritchie presided in the Mallow case where plaintiff reasigned against Diamond Coal & Oka Qo of Diamondville for injuries suffered in the defendant mine. The injury permanently disabled the plaintiff as originally claimed.

The Hotel Virginian Opens at Medicine Bow
The Hotel Virginian opened at Medicine Bow on the fourth of the month with great rejoicing. Proprietor August Grimm spared no expense to create a four story hotel with electric lights and lavish furnishings. The first floor houses a large lobby office and dining room. A grand stair leads to a second floor ladies parlor and a piano. Baths are on the second and third floors. The hotel is named after Owen Wister's The Virginian and sits in Medicine Bow country.
