Frontier citizens hosted a whist night in honor of Mrs. Glen Gorton of Ft. Andrew. About fifty invitations were issued and guests enjoyed a lively game, prizes awarded to Mrs. Sarah, Mr. Breast Malmes and Mr. Masbey. A spread of sandwiches, cake and ice cream followed, with lively conversation and plans for a future meeting.
A list of residents including Mrs Mary Noddy Eiclees, A F Lalley, Mrs Pearl Yost, Mr and Mrs Bran sen, Mrs Edith Rathben, Miss Gumle Helbig, and others from Moors and Kammerer appears in the society notes. The compilation names families and individuals with rail and home connections, reflecting neighborhood social activity.
Mr and Mrs W G Enoz hosted a Bachelor boys and girl event at their Frontier home Saturday evening. About 500 games were played with Jeffron winning honors and Arthur Cal Varley placing second. Irene Elliott led the ladies with a first place, Marion Christmas and Bima Sammon second. Miss Christmas won overall. Thanksgiving decor featured large yellow chrysanthemums, turkey shaped favors, and napkins with turkeys and pumpkins. The tally cards matched the festive theme and the evening closed around 1 0 am with Mr Knox attending.
About 40 youths from Dismondville and Kemmerer gathered at M. J. Kavanagh’s home in Dismondville last Friday to celebrate Morgen Kavanagh’s twenty first birthday. The evening included games and songs, prize winnings for ladies and gentlemen, refreshments, and a birthday cake cut for all. The event featured humorous bits and local chatter about a small country cheese sale elsewhere in the community.
Uinta County Wool Growers set Friday meetings with large anticipated attendance. An entertainment program, banquet at Wylman hotel, and dance at Woodman Hall are planned. A sheep exhibition will showcase Wyoming stock, including top Cokeville area stock. Also notes birth of Dorothy Mudeling to Fred and Mrs Esch of Frontier.
In Evanston on Friday afternoon prominent local men gathered as Elk Coal Company properties changed hands after a long period of inactivity. The deal involved about 245000 in value with $21 balances noted. Lincoln Coal Company later secured a one year lease from the plant owner amid financial stress and prior assigners.
Mr Gunnell markets coal and holds a lease through to August 18. A. L. Evanston and Thomas, longtime Blyth Fargo Co bookkeeper, report the mine’s development to raise tonnage quickly. Unconfirmed talk says a high quality coal seam was found at the main slope face, potentially the largest in the region and easily worked.

A letter from Evanston Pro and Ta. Camas praises Clarence Reynolds as a bright young man from Lingoln county who has worked for years in Ukeville. Reynolds departed Saturday for Washington to assume new responsibilities as secretary to the senate committee with broad support from local friends. Harold Gannell is named as stenographer and will leave for duties in the same office.
The Christian Science Monitor reports Wyoming coal fields are vast and high quality with deposits under 40,000 square miles. Main mines at Dells, Carneyville, Monarch, plus Rock Springs and Hanna, Newcastle, Cambria. Daily production around 8,000 tons and thousands of workers. The Sheridan region hosts a major semi bituminous coal field as lines expand to connect mills and railroads. Wyoming aims to compete with world leaders as development accelerates.
Senator C. D. Clark, in Evanston this week on business, left for Washington to attend the upcoming Congress session. He is noted as looking better and ready to bring enthusiasm and vigor to work for the people. Mrs. Clark is reported in good health following her trip abroad.
Senator Warren stopped in Granger during Evanston to Kem road trips and praised David Bagley a pioneer storekeeper turned farmer. Bagley expanded a western ranch to 180 acres of alfalfa and oats, selling nearly 4000 dollars of crops this year with more in storage. The venture, aided by Mr Gray, aims to grow to 450 alfalfa acres next year and strengthen local sheep farming by supplying grain locally.
The Wyoming delegation is expected to take the lead in the second session of the Sixty-second Congress on key issues for the state. Wool tariff policy and conservation of public lands loom large, with Wyoming’s coal, oil, gas, and phosphate resources in focus. Members across House and Senate are seen as united in defending western interests and guiding development.
The Evanston Press notes Dr T A Davis son of Register T V Davis has found success in surgery and medicine. After serving as house physician at Denver county and city hospital for over a year post graduation from Gross Medical College he now relocates to Portland Colorado. He purchased Dr Rambeaux’s practice and drug store as the retiring Portland physician moves on.
