Mrs Potter Dies Second Flu Victim in Frontier
Mrs. Dick Potter of Frontier died last Saturday night, the second flu victim after her husband’s death about a week earlier. Funeral services were held Monday at the local Catholic church, with interment in the Catholic cemetery. The flu epidemic is under control, no new cases in fourteen days, and the town council will maintain a strict quarantine. Authorities plan to keep outside traffic heavily restricted and may lift the quarantine within the district only gradually. Public support for the measures remains strong as Kemmerer business adjusts to the restrictions.

Letter From Son in Army Ordnance Camp
M. J. Sawaya of Kemmerer received a letter from his son John in the ordnance department at the U S Naval training camp in Beattie Washington. John says soldiers are well cared for and clothed and fed in the best possible manner. He sent a picture of the men, about 4500 feet wide, featuring the entire group in uniform.

Judge Arnold Opens Kemmerer Court Delays Session Due to Flu
Judge John R. Arnold convened the November term in Kemmerer but adjourned to December 2 because of a flu outbreak. A jury likely to be called then for civil and criminal cases. Naturalization hearings were postponed. examiner Leslie Frazer ill but expected back soon. Albert Chadez pled guilty to grand larceny and received one to 18 months in Rawlins. G B Hackett pleaded guilty to liquor law violation and paid 400 dollars. Arnold’s new Dodge stalled on Diamondville hill. he walked to town and returned to Evanston, noting improved flu conditions there.

Mrs William Bean of Cumberland died Monday night of pneumonia after an extended illness. Her husband works for the Union Pacific Coal company. Dr. J B Marquis has moved his office to the old headquarters. he plans to enlist soon and is making ready to depart on short notice.
