The Green River Petroleum Company will receive its first car of machinery in Opal today and haul it to the LaPargee Fields. The new Cheyenne-led company, with William Jeffers as president, leases state school lands in LaBarge. Ben F. Drayton of Thermopolis will supervise field work, noted as a top Montana drill master. Road conditions between Opal and LaBarge worsened last week, but improved weather is hoped to aid the work.

More Oil Men Visit Kemmerer Rendezvous Attracts Newcomers

A group of new oil men arrived in Kemmerer this week to inspect local fields led by Z J Herschman, formerly of Fossil, who holds large interests in the district. Chas K Costelli of Twin Falls Idaho and P T Denney also visited the area, with several California oil field parties waiting in the region.

Mrs Quealy Leads Regional Red Cross Chapter Setup

Mrs P J Quealy helped organize a local Red Cross chapter and started a movement at Rock Springs. She planned a meeting at Superior by request and formed an auxiliary of 24 high school students. She will travel to Granger next week to promote a similar chapter drive.

Important Questions For June 5 Registration Day

On June 5 a national registration day is observed as a holiday in many areas with Kemmerer and Lincoln County towns likely to mark it as a semi holiday and most businesses closed. About 50 travelers registered at the County Clerk's office last week and all away from home must file registration cards at their temporary residence. The questions to be asked include full name home address date of birth citizenship status present trade employment dependents and draft exemption grounds.
