Lincoln County Garage Stocks Cars In One Day Sale
The Lincoln county garage cleared its auto stock in a one day sale this week. Mr. Wilson, the manager, had been blue due to difficulty securing cars but on Monday snow prevented further sales while a shipment of Dodge and Chandler cars may be en route. H. B. Robinson of the Lincoln-Idaho Oil Company bought the remaining lot.

Former Kemmerer Men Recall French Railroading in War
Three Montpelier veterans Verde Barkdull Hans Larson and James Brown alias Skinny recount their railway duties in France during World War I. Barkdull and Larson served in the 14th Engineers First Army corps with Barkdull as conductor and Larson as a cab engineer on narrow gauge rails. Brown worked on Verdun front trains hauling men and supplies. They describe tight schedules rough conditions and close calls near combat as they traveled with ammunition trains and endured improvised rolling stock. Fay Barkdull is in Bordeaux with the 401st telegraph battalion awaiting shipment home.

Nurses to Receive Sixty Dollar Bonus Under 1919 Act
Section 1406 of the Revenue Act authorizes a $60 bonus for officers soldiers field clerks and nurses upon honorable discharge from active service. The bonus applies to those discharged after enactment and not to heirs. Nurses who already drew final pay without the bonus may apply to the Zone Finance Officer in Washington D C with their discharge papers.
