Big Piney Deputy Sheriff Fired Over Treason Remarks

Miner Attacked by Co Worker Blasts Head in Sublet

Auy Rose tipple foreman at No 5 mine Sublet is recovering from a fractured skull after Joe Gann attacked him with a pick handle during a dispute along the track near the Sublet warehouse. Rose was taken to Kemmerer hospital with bleeding in both ears but regained consciousness by Sunday. Gann fled to his Sublet ranch and was captured later, jailed on assault with intent to kill. Officials say the assault stemmed from long running bad feeling between the men.
