Arson case in Kemmerer court session ends with doubt
In Kemmerer on Saturday afternoon Wilkie was arraigned for arson after a witness linked him to plans to burn a barn. The case drew in Dencon and Gabardi, with Deputy Gadmundasa testifying about burnt oil and an attempted blaze. Judge Carnahan remanded Wilkie to district court as Dencon posted bond. Meanwhile Sam Palin, Kemmerer railroad foreman and secretary of the local fire department, died in a railway accident, shocking the community and prompting an inquest and funeral arrangements led by the Odd Fellows.
