Lieutenant F B Briggs and his newlywed wife arrived in Kemmerer last weekend from Evanston. They were guests of Company H officers at the local unit. Briggs belongs to the recently organized Evanston Company.
Private Asa Hebdon of Thayne Wyoming accidentally discharged an automatic revolver while cleaning it in camp at the tunnel. He believed the gun unloaded, but a live cartridge in the barrel fired sending a bullet into his foot, lodging near the shoe. Doctor Stafford attended the injured man.
A man moved to the scene to stop the flow of blood and found no bone injury, receiving only flesh wounds. He was taken to Lincoln County Miners Hospital for treatment. Mr Hebdon is the nephew of Mr and Mrs Fred Hancey of this city.
A group of Company II officers and their wives enjoyed a Sunday picnic near Slate Creek. Attendees included Captain I. I. Waugh and wife, Captain Stafford of the Medical Corps and wife, Lieutenant Sheth and wife, Lieutenant Ware and Lieutenant Hiriges and wife, with the latter hosting guests from Company H.
Members of Company H now enjoy shower baths. Two exterior showers were installed near the barracks and a refrigerator was constructed for the culinary department.

A Pert Indiana mother reports Chamberlains Cough Remedy eased two daughters whooping cough. She writes that the medicine worked like a charm and helped keep the cough loose for easier expectoration.
A fragmentary Diamondville item lists social visits, travels, and local happenings. Mentions Hor lonesome Monday car ride, Dan Harrity, hor rity, and various residents from Durgherland to Eureka visiting relatives. Also notes cafe church meeting, card club, and residents traveling to Green River and Ideal Beach.
Frank J Cheney and Co prominent Toledo firm listed as general partners with a claim paying a hundred dollars for catarrh. Notarized statement dated December 6 shows endorsements by Hie 6th day of December with Dr A Gleason witnessing. Mail’s Catarrh Cure advertised as blood-borne remedy. testimonials promised. Halle Family Pills for constipation also advertised.
St James Church will observe July Fourth with special services at 11 a.m. The program includes Morning Prayer, hymns, Credo, Offertory, Sursum Corda, and Benedictine chant. The text lists various musical settings and an address by Rev. C Rooter.
