Founded by Z W Nail Bert Heitz and H R Embree the firm offers hardware furniture and farm machinery and operates a basement sales room and a warehouse near the railroad. Embree runs the embalming department and undertakings with a morgue and caskets. the business serves mining districts and ranch regions with growing patronage.

Mountain storm floods Buffalo area causing deaths and damage

A cloud burst on Clear Creek near Buffalo in Johnson county last Wednesday caused a flood that swept through the town ten minutes after the storm. A wall about eight feet high entered business buildings and hotels as the bridge washed out. One man drowned while aiding others and over 400000 dollars in damage was reported. The cloudburst occurred at 6:15 p.m.

A Kansas family emigrating to Oregon suffers the death of their 14 year old daughter near Opal after a sickness that began with a cold. Mr and Mrs E F Cobb and their three children were traveling by wagon when the tragedy struck. Dr Stafford was called but the girl died before arrival. Burial occurred at Opal on Friday with community sympathy expressed.

Quealy Named to National Campaign Committee

Hon P J Quealy and his son Mation travel to Chicago and Baltimore as Wyoming delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Quealy receives a letter from Champ Clark inviting him to join his campaign committee, with plans to attend both major party conventions and assist Clark’s bid. After convention work, Quealy plans to visit the Kemmers in New York City and return shortly after July 1.

Making County Road Hobart Chapman Uinta county surveyor led a crew from Kemmerer over the new road to Big Piney to accurately describe it for county commissioners approval. The project aims to ease auto and freighter travel, despite past poor conditions and high grades.
