Local residents report visitors from Kemmerer including Elmer Holmes Walter Hanks and others, with travels to Danie.l Big Piney and Montpelier Idaho noted. Fishing trips, hay business, and hunting plans fill the week as residents roam Beaver Creek head to Hamfork, Salt Lake City and Richfield Utah. A reward for a lost saddle horse and several ads for sale cattle and a piano appear alongside notices of personnel changes and railway yard work.
Mr and Mrs H Hibbs plan departure from Kemmerer to Philadelphia after settling business. Hibbs, an expert cabinet maker, will work in the navy yards there. Their move excites many local friends who recall his years with the Frontier Supply Company and service on the City Council.
Montpelier Lodge No. 607 of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen met in Kemmerer for a monthly session due to attendance issues in Montpelier. Officers from Montpelier attended with members named Howard Wrench O H Olly Nosey Hansen and others, about twenty members present in the district court room.
A letter to the Camera office from Tueter McTivain, with the auxiliary Remount No. 343 in St Joseph G Johnson Jackson Florida, says Buster McTivain suffers a knee injury from years ago. Army doctors deem it incurable and he expects discharge soon to return to Big Piney country. He enlisted at Ft Douglas on April 22.
Kemmerer Chamber of Commerce met in district court room Monday night to organize the Chautauqua week of August. RK Embree named chairing committee to arrange preliminaries and report at the next chamber meeting. Good roads discussed and committee instructed to coordinate with City Council on Kemmerer road improvements.
Mark Twitchell son of his Twitchell of Viola has received a furlough from Camp Lawing and will arrive in Kemmerer today to help harvest his father's hay crop. Furlough runs from August 1 to September 11.
Doctor W A Hocker appears in public for first time since illness. He sits in a wheelchair but cheerful and healthy, surrounded by friends expressing pleasure at his recovery. Blacksmith position available for Frank Rosenstein. Church notices list mass, benediction, Sunday school times, and sermons at local parishes.
An advertisement touts Camberlain's Tablets claiming they improve digestion and bowel movements to enhance everyday happiness. The copy links good health to pleasure and urges readers to try the product despite odd phrasing and misspellings.
Rock Springs residents were surprised to learn of the marriage of Ramsay Taliaferro and Miss Leigh Garnett at the bride’s mother’s home in Shapidan Virginia on July 16. Ramsay, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Taliaferro of this city, has been in Virginia for schooling and now works for Westinghouse in Pittsburg. The families plan to meet the newlyweds in Wyoming or later.
