Forest Fire in Lincoln County
A July forest fire in Lincoln County, started by a campfire, consumed 500 to 600 acres of Red Fir timber across a ridge reach. Ranger Nate Davis and volunteers trenching and back-firing halted the blaze by Tuesday evening, with dozens of workers aiding through Monday, as crews warned campers to exercise care to prevent future devastation of valuable timber.
