The new Kemmerer steam laundry, opening this week, showcases about twenty machines from collar and cuff ironers to steam wringers. Manager Swansen, a seasoned laundryman, explains the equipment as twelve workers start, with a 80 horsepower boiler and a sanitary, well ventilated plant near the depot.
A humorous yarn describes a gathering in Kemmerer where about fifteen lawyers and judges from Evanston Laramie Rock Springs Cheyenne and Kemmerer discussed weighty issues including cooling weather. The piece notes cordiality and a resort to turning off the hot air faucets to adjourn as a solution.

A large crowd will greet the departure at the depot as No. 6 arrives to take boys to Cheyenne. Fol’s at Home organize the big send off with a lively gathering planned for the soldiers leaving today.
Citizens attend a public meeting at Triangle Park followed by a patriotic band concert and a brief soldiers’ address. A march to the depot will accompany the farewell scene as shops close.
A message from CAPT HL H WAUGH of Company H Wyoming Infantry and the Wyoming machine gun company extends deep gratitude to the people of Kemmerer and Lincoln County for their kindness during the unit's stay. The letter expresses a lasting warm regard for Kemmerer and notes the departure due to duty calls elsewhere.
Today at 12 15 the members of Company H and the machine gun company stationed here prepare for a joint muster. The event showcases unit readiness and ties between infantry and support elements within the garrison.
Special cars wait at local yards as orders to move spread. The force heads to Cheyenne first, then to Palo Alto for intensive training until August 4, before moving to France. The machine gun unit will join Rock Springs, led by G F Myers with prior Mexican border service. William Chamberlain, formerly a sergeant, becomes a lieutenant in the company.

A Greek man named Tony Apagionia sustained fatal injuries Saturday afternoon after a fall during a Cumberland County incident. He was transported to Lincoln County Hospital where he died. The case is being investigated and burial plans are underway.
State Engineer E Levison said the Wilow Creek route will shift the Big Piney road survey behind the Frontier mine, with the line higher on the hill and not part of the present dugway road. Stanley Cobban heads surveying, aiming to Ble Piney this week and toward Jackson’s Mole. federal approval is required before construction. The new Willow Creek road may be completed this fall with a 6 percent maximum grade.
Hunter Salmon and his wife returned Saturday from a trip through Oregon and Washington. Crop conditions in western Oregon are good, but grain crops in eastern Oregon and parts of Idaho suffer from lack of moisture. He noted strong interest in gardening and potato watches. In Portland there is demand for garden space and vacant lots with standing grain. Salmon bought several carloads of rama in Oregon.
James Flockart a 21 month old son of Mr and Mrs Flockart died Sunday morning at a ranch near Elko. Burial followed Monday afternoon at Diamondville cemetery.
The Kemmerer District No. 1 announces a large slate of new teachers for the coming school year starting September 4. New arrivals include Honsken and Detha at Kemmerer High. Miss Ileas Allen from uniboldt Nebraska teaching English. Miss Anna J. Hulihon replacing Mie Shreven. James B. Jones from Pennsylvania to the Junior High. Ralph Porter from Rosen dale Kansas to head the grade school. Miss Marguerite Kennedy of Laramie in the grades. and Miss Helen Kraft of Ogden Utah as primary teacher. Returning staff include Lucy Federson and Jas Hibbons in the High School Commercial department, Esther Bolln, Katherine Rouche, Emma Seyfert, Winifred Catfal, Epler as Frontier principal, Bather Geesey, Ada Collins, Anna Sanders, Mary Geesey, Cora Lloyd, Grace Grantage, Nora Stewart, Anna Meyers, and Adie Meyers.
Rumors say Cretacioup Oil Co. drilling in Dry Piney district hit gas and may gush with more drilling. Operations paused awaiting a safety precaution cupping. Lakey and McGlasmehan, promoters, were in Kemmerer on Saturday and proceeded to Cheyenne on business.
