Dairy Cow Cooperatives Boost Profits and Herd Quality
United States Dairy Division reports cow testing and cooperative associations raise profits per cow from 10 to 16 dollars or more while costs stay around 1.50 per cow annually. About 8,800 members own roughly 150,000 cows across 50 associations. Bull associations improve herd quality by supplying pure bred bulls and reducing inbreeding across blocks of farms.
