Lincoln Oil Locators Seek Protection Over Proposed Leasing Bill
Wyoming oil locators rally against Ferris-Phelan leasing bill pending in Congress. The measure would force locators to lease directly from the government and end second-party leasing, risking thousands of existing locations in Lincoln County including Big Piney, LaBarge, Foal and Carter fields. An O Connor resolution by Wyoming lawmakers urges amending the bill to preserve preferential leasing rights for holders acting in good faith.
